The 17th annual Old Fat Bald Guys Ice Hockey Tournament will take place at Skate Frederick in Frederick, Maryland from July 14h - July 16th, 2023.

This is a tournament for adult ice hockey players of all skill levels who have a passion for hockey, friendship, camaraderie and family. Over $87,000 has been raised over the course of the previous tournaments benefiting various charities and non-profit organizations - including Platoon 22. In December of 2012, the Old Fat Bald Guys Hockey family lost David Anthony “Tony” Johnson. Tony was a friend, teammate, son, brother and a United States Marine. Tony had a smile that would brighten a room; a personality that would change the day for the better; a zest for life that was unmatched within the persons he encountered. Tony struggled with PTSD following his return from combat in Iraq, and sadly took his own life. To honor the memory of David Anthony “Tony” Johnson, respect the wishes of his family and benefit the community, Old Fat Bald Guys Hockey proudly supports Platoon 22!

Platoon 22 is a 501-c3 non-profit organization based in Frederick, Maryland helps service veterans successful transition from military service, combat PTSD, and ultimately prevent these heroes from taking their own lives. The name Platoon 22 is symbolic of the estimated 22 U.S. veterans who take their own lives every day due.
