Join us in celebrating the Month of the Military Child with an afternoon of outdoor exploration and connection at ThorpeWood! This no cost special event is designed to honor and support military children and children of veterans by providing them with a fun and relaxing opportunity to engage with nature.

ThorpeWood is nestled in a rocky and heavily forested stream valley, 1,500 feet up in the Catoctin Mountains of Maryland. It is only an hour and fifteen minutes away from Washington and Baltimore yet offers seclusion and a sense of remoteness.

🌳 Activities Include:

• Guided compass and map reading with GRIT Adventures
• Character Matters Adventures with the Travis Manion Foundation
• Flying Fishing Demonstrations with Project Healing Waters at the Lake
• Guided Stress Reduction Nature Hike with the Cohen Foundation
• Mindfulness and relaxation exercises Trauma-Informed Yoga with Emma               
• Guitars for Vets Calming music and discussion about free lessons with Ralph Hertges 
• Decompressing with farm animals and a Warrior Canine Connection Service Dog in Training
